'Lady Llanover: Cambrian Costumes No. 1' - Unmounted Print
Regular price £4.95
This unmounted A3 sized print features an illustration of 'A Welsh peasant girl in the costume of a large part of Gwent' from the Lady Llanover collection of Cambrian Costumes which are held at the National Library of Wales.
Lady Llanover influenced the popularity and preservation of the Welsh costume, and commissioned the production of watercolours and prints of costumes from different parts of Wales, (Pembrokeshire, Cardiganshire and parts of Gwent and the Gower), it is thought that they were produced as fashion plates showing what she thought should be worn by her friends and servants at the Eisteddfodau and balls.
