Gwlad y Gân (Land of Song) - Poster
The map of Wales so delicately painted by the Welsh French Quebecker artist Valériane Leblond, is far more than a conventional geographical atlas. The painted characters, creatures and farmhouses are from folk tales, old and new, stories which represent the many meanings of the word "chwedlau". Yes, there are myths and legends here, but "chwedlau" also refers to stories, fairytales, anecdotes, gossip and speech. This is a map of conversation. Commissioned by National Library of Wales. Printed on glossy 250g paper.
