Gloss finish cork backed coaster featuring intricate illustrations by Margaret Jones, based on the stories of the Mabinogion. 'Y March Hud' (the magic steed), depicts the otherwordly magic horse ridden by the beautiful Rhiannon, who enthralls Pwyll, but outruns his knights when they try to catch up with her.

Also in the series: Drudwy Branwen, (Branwen's starling) Priodas Branwen (Branwen's wedding) Lleu Llaw Gyffes, Gwydion y Dewin (Gwydion the wizard), Hud ar Ddyfed

Believed to date from the late 11th and 12th centuries, the Mabinogion stories are contained within either or both medieval manuscripts the White book of Rhydderch (c. 1350) and the Red book of Hergest, dated around 1382-1410, although it is generally agreed that the stories pre-date the surviving manuscripts.
